希腊词根（十三）：尖、顶、光与射线
一、acr / acro：尖、顶
希腊词根 acr- / acro- 来自形容词 akros（顶端的、尖的）。本义「尖端、顶端、最高」，卫城、杂技、恐高、藏头诗、巅峰、首字母缩写等词均由此来。
acr- / acro- “point, top, height”
- acropolis /əˈkrɒpəlɪs/ acro- + polis（城），顶（上的）城 → 卫城、山巅之城。例： The Acropolis overlooks Athens.
- acrobat /ˈækrəbæt/ acro- + bat-（走），在顶端（脚尖）上走的人 → 杂技演员。例： The acrobat performed on the tightrope.
- acrophobia /ˌækrəˈfəʊbiə/ acro- + phob-（惧）+ -ia，对高处/顶端的恐惧 → 恐高症。（见第52章 phob。）例： She has acrophobia and avoids tall buildings.
- acrostic /əˈkrɒstɪk/ acro- + stich-（行），顶（端首字母）成行 → 藏头诗。例： The poem is an acrostic spelling “HELLO”.
- acme /ˈækmi/ acm-（acro 的变体）+ -e，顶点 → 顶峰、极致。例： He reached the acme of his career.
- acronym /ˈækrənɪm/ acro- + -onym（名），顶（端首字母构成的）名 → 首字母缩写。（见第54章 onym。）例： NATO is an acronym for North Atlantic Treaty Organization.
二、actin：射线、光
希腊词根 actin- 来自名词 aktis（光线、射线）。本义「射线、光」，多用于科学术语：光化性、锕、射线测量、光疗等。
actin- “ray, beam of light”
- actinism /ˈæktɪnɪzəm/ actin- + -ism，射线（的效应）→ 光化性、射线化学作用。例： Actinism refers to the chemical effect of light.
- actinium /ækˈtɪniəm/ actin- + -ium（元素后缀），射线（相关元素）→ 锕。例： Actinium is a radioactive element.
- actinoid /ˈæktɪnɔɪd/ actin- + -oid（似…的），似锕（的）→ 锕系元素。例： Uranium is an actinoid element.
- actinometer /ˌæktɪˈnɒmɪtə/ actino- + -meter（测），射线/光（强度）测量仪 → 光化线强度计。例： An actinometer measures the intensity of light.
- actinotherapy /ˌæktɪnəʊˈθerəpi/ actino- + therapy，射线疗法 → 光疗、射线治疗。例： Actinotherapy uses ultraviolet or X-rays.
- actinomorphic /ˌæktɪnəʊˈmɔːfɪk/ actino- + morph-（形）+ -ic，射线形（辐射对称）的 → 辐射对称的。例： Many flowers are actinomorphic.
三、phot：光
希腊词根 phot- 来自名词 phōs（光，属格 phōtos）。本义「光」，照片、摄影、光子、光合作用、上镜等词均由此来。
phot- “light”
- photo /ˈfəʊtəʊ/ phot- + -o，光（的影像）→ 照片。（photograph 的简写。）例： She took a photo of the sunset.
- photograph /ˈfəʊtəɡrɑːf/ photo- + -graph（写、记录），用光记录 → 照片；拍照。例： He photographed the ceremony.
- photography /fəˈtɒɡrəfi/ photo- + -graphy，光（记录）之术 → 摄影。例： Photography is his hobby.
- photon /ˈfəʊtɒn/ phot- + -on（粒子），光（的）粒子 → 光子。例： A photon is a quantum of light.
- photosynthesis /ˌfəʊtəʊˈsɪnθəsɪs/ photo- + synthesis（合成），用光合成 → 光合作用。例： Plants use photosynthesis to make food.
- photogenic /ˌfəʊtəˈdʒenɪk/ photo- + -genic（产生），产生（好）光影的 → 上镜的。例： She is very photogenic.
- photocopy /ˈfəʊtəʊkɒpi/ photo- + copy，用光（复制）→ 复印；复印件。例： Please make a photocopy of the document.
四、opt：光、视
希腊词根 opt- 来自名词 opsis（视觉、眼）及动词 optos（可见的）。本义「光、眼、视」，光学、视力的、验光师等词均由此来。
opt- “eye, sight, light”
- optic /ˈɒptɪk/ opt- + -ic，与眼/光有关的 → 眼的、光学的。例： The optic nerve carries visual signals.
- optics /ˈɒptɪks/ opt- + -ics（学科），光/视之学 → 光学。例： Optics studies the behavior of light.
- optical /ˈɒptɪkl/ opt- + -ical，与光/视有关的 → 光学的、视觉的。例： Optical fibers carry data as light.
- optician /ɒpˈtɪʃn/ opt- + -ician（从业者），眼/镜（从业）者 → 验光师、眼镜商。例： The optician fitted her for new glasses.
- optometry /ɒpˈtɒmətri/ opt- + -metry（测量），视力测量（之学）→ 验光、视光学。例： He studied optometry at college.
- optometrist /ɒpˈtɒmətrɪst/ optometry + -ist，从事验光的人 → 验光师。例： The optometrist checked her eyesight.
acro 与「顶、尖、首」
Acropolis（卫城）= 顶 + 城；acrobat（杂技演员）= 顶 + 走（脚尖行走）；acrophobia（恐高）= 顶 + 惧；acrostic（藏头诗）= 顶（首字母）+ 行；acronym（首字母缩写）= 顶（首字母）+ 名。同一「顶/尖」，既可指空间上的高处，也可指顺序上的「首」字母。
phot 与 opt：光与视
Phot- 侧重「光」本身：photo、photon、photosynthesis（光合成）。 Opt- 侧重「眼、视觉、光学」：optic、optics、optometry（视力测量）。二者常与 -ic、-ology 等组合，phot 多用于摄影与物理，opt 多用于眼科与光学仪器。
