一、be-：使、加强、围绕
古英语 be- 可表「使…、加以…、围绕」，或仅加强词义。
be- “make, around, intensify”

demi-、hemi- 与 semi-（三个「半」）
Demi-（法语）：demigod 半神、demitasse 小杯、demimonde 边缘社会。 Hemi-（希腊）：hemisphere 半球、hemicycle 半圆、hemiplegia 偏瘫。 Semi-（拉丁）：semicircle 半圆、semiconductor 半导体、semiannual 每半年。三者同义，来源不同；semi- 最常见。
maxi-、mini- 与 midi-
Maxi-（大/长）：maximum 最大值、maxi dress 长裙、maximize 最大化。 Mini-（小/短）：minimum 最小值、mini skirt 迷你裙、minimize 最小化、miniature 微型。 Midi-（中）：midi dress/skirt 中长款，介于 mini 与 maxi 之间。
dis- 与 dif-；co- 与 com-
Dis- 在 f 前变为 dif-：differ, different, diffuse, difficult, diffident。其他情况仍为 dis-：dismiss, display, dispute。 Co- 是 com-「共同」的简形，多用于元音前或复合词：cooperate, coordinate, coexist, coauthor, co-worker。
